Snail Ukuleles are manufactured in China and are relative newcomers to the UK but have quickly built a reputation for having a good blend of quality and affordability and instruments which both sound and play well. Here we have the Snail UKC-498 Concert sized Ukulele which predominantly uses Rosewood laminate for the body whilst the fretboard and bridge are solid Rosewood. The sound is rich and resonant with good depth and surprisingly loud volume for such a small instrument and a decent set of chrome machine heads with black tuning buttons ensure that tuning remains stable. The Snail UKC-498 Concert Ukulele uses Aquila strings which are similar to nylon and has decorative body binding and matching sound hole Rosette. All in all this is a very decent Ukulele that plays well, sounds good and some care has been taken regarding the construction of this instrument, plus it is well within the realms of affordability ... This would be a great and inexpensive grab 'n' go small instrument for musicians on-the-move who want to stay creative or practice their chops ...
