Billy Joel Net Worth & Biography 2017 | Concert Earnings & Music Sales!
Wiliam Martin (Billy) Joel is a singer-songwriter who was born on May 9, 1949 in the Bronx, New York. He has been married three times: to Elizabeth Weber from 1973-82; to model Christie Brinkley, from 1985-94; and to Katherine Lee, from 2004-10. During his marriage to Brinkley, the couple had a daughter, Alexa Ray, who was born on December 29, 1985.
Joel's musical career began while he was still in high school, but those efforts were as part of a group. He released his first solo album in 1971 and soon began his rise as a performer. His next album was 1973's Piano Man, whose title track arguably became his most famous song. After a few more albums, he joined forces with producer Phil Ramone in 1977 to create his next five albums, which helped make Joel a huge star. After releasing a live album, his 1989 album Storm Front was released just as his financial situation was imploding. Joel fired his manager, suing him for $90 million, but received only $2 million as a judgment. While he hasn't recorded any new music in the past two decades, he continues to tour across the world. He's a member of the Rock and Roll and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
While his income for the past two years is unknown, he receives royalties from his many recorded songs and still sells out for his many concert appearances, including multiple appearances at Madison Square Garden. His estimated net worth is approximately $160 million
