It is almost inevitable that - over time - duplicate records will creep into your Excel data set. In this tutorial, I demonstrate 3 methds to help you to identify and then either edit or delete the duplicate records.
1st Method - Use the Circle Invalid Entries tool. This works in coordination with Data Validation.
2nd Method - In Excel 2007 / 2010 , use the Remove Duplicates Command. This, as you will see, is both a powerful tool and a potentially destructive tool. My best practice is to use this with a Cipy of your data set.
3rd Method - Conditional Formatting. In Excel 2007 / 2010, Conditional Formatting has been really upgraded. Now, Highlighting either Duplicate or Unique Records is a menu selection. For those sill using Excel 2003 and earlier, I show you how to write the Formula needed to make Conditional Formatting work in this case.
